3 surprising uses for conditioner

There’s more to this hair staple than you may think
condition

If you open up your bathroom cupboard right now, we’re sure you’ll find some conditioners that you haven’t used, or you’ve changed your shampoo and conditioner brand and you have discarded bottles gathering dust in a corner. We’ve got three clever ways to incorporate them into your beauty routine.

1. Shaving cream

Run out of shaving cream? Don’t worry – simply use your conditioner. Foam isn’t a must when it comes to shaving; conditioner will smoothen the hair on your legs and under your arms, and will work just as well as shaving foam. You use less water and you’re left with silky-smooth skin.

2. Conditioner for your makeup brushes

Cleaning your makeup brushes is important, especially for hygiene purposes, but so is conditioning them to keep them from getting stiff. Dilute your conditioner (one teaspoon to one cup water) and dip your brushes in the solution to keep them from drying out.

3. Fabric softener

Did you know that the softening agents in conditioner are safe to use on clothes too? Add the same amount of conditioner as you would fabric softener to your regular load. You can also hand-wash your lacy delicates with conditioner. Simply add a drop of conditioner to water and then add your delicates and wash. This is a great tip when travelling.
