Too much month at the end of your money? These clever tricks can be used instead of expensive beauty products. Doesn’t that sound good!
- Want to make your pores appear smaller? Forget the expensive pore blurring products. Simply hold an ice cube to the area for minute – the cold will shrink and close the pores.
- If you suffer from blemishes, redness or a rash and your basic skincare routine won’t calm the redness, apply a baby rash cream containing zinc oxide to soothe the area.
- Apply toothpaste to a glaring, red mosquito bite to minimise the redness and itching.
- Do you have a couple of grey hairs or lighter root regrowth that you wish to hide but you don’t want to visit the salon or buy a whole container of box dye? Use a dry shampoo for brunettes that is dark coloured to temporarily conceal any greyness or light hairs.
- Can’t stand the frizzy baby hairs sprouting around your the hairline, even after you’ve straightened or blow-dried your hair? Tame these frizzies by spraying hairspray on a an eyebrow brush and combing through.
- Here’s a quick way to turn a matte foundation into one with a more dewy finish? Simply pump a dollop of your foundation into your hand and mix it with a couple of drops of facial or tissue oil.
- If that new bottle of foundation is a bit too pink for your olive toned skin, try this. Head to your kitchen cupboard and grab some turmeric! A tiny bit of turmeric will add yellow pigment to your pinkish foundation (you really don’t want to overdo it!).
- Here’s how to create a quick, smoky cateye: Apply your eyeliner (a pencil works best) roughly and don’t stress too much about getting it perfect. Now, twist a makeup removing cloth around your index finger, or dab a cotton bud into makeup remover and clean up the rough edges. Or you could smudge the top eyeliner with a bit of Vaseline to create a smokey, glossy effect.
