Malva Pudding

Recipe Ingredients

  • 250 ml sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 15 ml butter
  • 250 ml flour
  • 5 ml bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 ml salt
  • 250 ml Nestlé Ideal Evaporated Milk
  • 15 ml white vinegar
  • 10 ml vanilla essence
  • 1 can Nestlé Cream
  • 60 g butter
  • 80 ml sugar
  • 30 ml hot water

Recipe Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and grease an ovenproof dish - 24 cm -x 18 cm
  2. Beat the sugar, egg, jam and butter together until light and fluffy. Sift flour, bicarb and salt together. Mix Nestlé Ideal Evaporated Milk, vinegar and vanilla together. Fold flour mixture into the egg mixture alternately with the liquid. Mix well.
  3. Pour into the prepared dish and bake for 45 minutes. Heat the Nestlé Cream, remaining butter, sugar and water together and boil for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour sauce over hot pudding.
  5. Serve hot with extra cream or custard.
