Red cabbage

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 red cabbage, core removed and finely sliced
  • 250g brown sugar
  • 250ml red-wine vinegar
  • 200g unsalted butter, diced
  • salt and black pepper

Recipe Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 165°C.
  2. Put the cabbage in an ovenproof dish and sprinkle over the sugar, vinegar and butter. Season well, cover with foil and put in the oven.
  3. Cook for 40 minutes and then give it a really good stir before putting it back for a further 40 minutes.
