- 4 cups water
- 400g sugar or xylitol
- 3 large cinnamon sticks
- 5 star anise seeds
- 2 large dried red chillies
- 800g (2 packets) frozen mixed berries
- mascarpone cheese, to serve
1. Heat water in apan on medium heat. Add all the ingredients except the berries, and stir until the mixture thickens.
2. Add the berries and lower the heat. Let the mixture simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
3. Serve warm in bowls with a dollop each of cold mascarpone cheese.
