Clinique unveils new skincare diagnostic tool

Want to know what toner, moisturiser or foundation is perfect for your specific skin type? Now there’s an app for that, thanks to Clinique and Apple

The application is quick and surprisingly easy to use. Now you can do your own skin analysis in store by the click of a few buttons. You still have the option to discuss your analysis with a Clinique consultant, so the technology is not replacing personal interactions. The app simply allows you, as the consumer, to personalise your shopping experience even more.

This self-guided tool will be available at selected Clinique counters around the country. (To locate the nearest one to you, contact Clinique via their Facebook page.)

Here’s how it works:

  1. Step up to the Clinique counter at your favourite department store and connect to their Apple iPad.
  2. Take the 90-second computer-guided skin care test and answer questions about your specific skin type and concerns.
  3. Get personalized recommendations from over 180,000 possible product combinations to match your needs.
  4. Receive a personalized printout or email with a list of recommended cosmetic and skincare products.
