Bra Care 101

There’s a reason they’re called delicates: bras need extra TLC. Follow these tips to improve their life span

1. Depending on the way it’s worn and washed, a bra should last about two years. Always give bras a one-day breather between uses: the elastic needs some downtime to snap back into shape.

2. For maximum wear, handwash in cold water with a mild detergent such as Woolite. Squeeze suds through – don’t wring. Roll in a towel, then drip-dry.

3. While handwashing is ideal, most bras can be popped into the washing machine. Fasten clasps, place inside a zippered mesh lingerie bag (to avoid tangling and snaring), and use the gentlest cycle.
