We had the chance to chat to her about the collaboration, as well as get a few beauty tips! By Cathi Trevor
Good Housekeeping: The ‘Outspoken’ fragrance was all about being bold, sexy and uninhibited. Do you still feel like that now that you are a mother?
Fergie: Yes, I do! The Outspoken fragrances are all about being bold, confident and fearless. Shooting the new creative for these fragrances really brought all of that out of me.
GH: What’s your favourite smell?
Fergie: One of the smells that I love the most is my baby’s skin…I just can’t get enough of it.
GH: Your skin and hair always look magnificent, what are your three beauty tips that you could share with our readers?
Fergie: My three key beauty tips are:
1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
2. For natural waves, I tie my hair in a bun while it’s wet and then take it out when it’s dry. It makes for great waves without using any heat.
3. Lots of rest, it’s key to feeling fresh.
GH: What is your favourite lipstick colour for everyday and the colour you like to wear at night?
Fergie: ‘Daily’ from my cosmetics collection is a great nude for daily use, and ‘Saraghina’ from my collection is a great fiery red night-time shade.
GH: Tell us about being the Global Ambassador for the Avon Foundation for Women
Fergie: Being able to empower women was one of the reasons why I partnered with the Avon Foundation for Women. I want to be a good example for women around the world, and for my child.
GH: Avon is actively involved in raising funds for cancer research. What advice would you give our readers when it comes to cancer or breast cancer awareness in particular?
Fergie: It is so important that women know their breasts and report any changes to their doctor. Women should also talk to their doctors about their risk, and encourage other women around them to do the same.
GH: Do you plan on coming back to South Africa anytime soon?
Fergie: I don’t have anything planned now, but look forward to coming in the near future.
