Views Boutique Hotel & Spa gets involved with The Hope Foundation and gives back to the community
Located in Wilderness, Mantis’ Views Boutique Hotel & Spa is a haven of peace, serenity and luxury. Perched on a beach front dune with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean lapping at its feet, this exclusive hotel offers panoramic beach and sea views. But it’s not all about beauty and indulgence; Views Boutique Hotel & Spa is also involved in helping out their community.
The Hope Foundation is a tourism based charity founded by Jan Besterand. It focuses on social upliftment programmes as well as various conservation initiatives within the Garden Route. These include feeding schemes, rural school projects, youth programmes through creative arts and sustainable economic development of rural communities through tourism.
Views Boutique Hotel & Spa got involved with the Hope Foundation by organising “winter warmth” initiatives. In the past Views staff members held a cake sale to raise money to buy blankets and last year the hotel collaborated with some of its suppliers (Waltons, Grocery Express, Haartman Butchery and Selbie Bakery) to donate stationery and food to 160 underprivileged children at Grootkraal Primary School in Oudtshoorn.
The Views team visited the school to distribute all the items and serve the children warm vegetable soup and bread. Watching the children enjoy their lunch warmed the hearts of the Views team and some of the staff even took part in a game of rugby. At the end of the day the team was treated to a song and dance by the children. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by both the Views team and the children and the team can’t wait for this year’s “winter warmth” initiative.
