Everyone’s going crazy over this new flatiron technique

You’ll never look at your straightener the same way again

By Good Housekeeping

If you’re addicted to your flatiron (it’s okay, seriously), you probably think you know every trick there is to know when it comes to creating awesome styles with your iron, from curls to crimps. But one hairstylist from Denmark named Nicci Welsh is making waves in the beauty world with the ingenious way she uses her flatiron to create a soft, natural wavy look she calls the ‘S Wave’.

Usually, you use your flatiron by sliding it down the length of a section of your hair and twisting and turning it in different directions to achieve different styles. But Nicci’s trick is like nothing you’ve ever done before and when she showed it off at the Front Row beauty convention in Florida recently, beauty insiders were reportedly stunned – letting out audible gasps as they witnessed her technique and its gorgeous result.

Basically, Nicci takes a section of hair and pushes it into an S shape and taps her flatiron over the shape to set it. She then alternates the S shape all the way down, creating the S wave. The result is gorgeous and natural-looking.

Thank you, Nicci Welsh. You’ve forever changed the way we’ll use our flatirons.
