Unlike a migraine, a headache is not a neurological condition. It’s usually a symptom of stress or an unhealthy lifestyle. A typical tension headache – which is the most common type of headache – can be felt around the back, neck and shoulders.
Essential oils can act as a natural painkiller. Massage your temples for 5 or so minutes with a few drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil.
2. Avoid these foods
Cutting out certain foods may help prevent headaches. Research has shown that headaches may be triggered by foods like gluten, chocolate, cheese, red wine, coffee and tea.
Stretching your back and neck muscles might improve a tension headache. Drop your head forward and rest your chin on your chest. Place your hands on the crown of your head, and let your arms hand loose. This will add weight to your head and help your neck muscles to relax.
4. Take a walk
The fresh air can help relieve your headache, especially if you’ve been sitting at your desk, staring at your computer all day long.
