These great alternative uses for tomato sauce will save you money and time:
1. Polish your Copper
Forget mucking about with costly and potentially toxic metal polish pastes. Why not use some of those old tomato sauce packets stashed away in your kitchen drawers? Massage the tomato sauce over the copper and watch the dull layer dissolve (thanks to the acid).
2. Restore your Chlorine-damaged Hair
Tomato sauce can also be used to correct the lime tint or the highlights that can sometimes occur after exposure to chlorine found in swimming pools, like the one at the gym you might be going to for your weekly swim. Massage the tomato sauce it into your hair, let it sit for about 20 minutes, and then wash it out thoroughly.
3. Keep your Silver Jewellery Sparkling
Dunk your silver rings, necklaces and earrings in a bowl of tomato sauce or use an old toothbrush to work the sauce into all the little crevices. Leave the sauce on for a few minutes, then rinse and dry your jewellery.
What to Do with All those Empty Tomato-sauce Bottles?
If you don’t live in a recycling-friendly community (which would be a pity), wash them and use them as pancake-batter dispensers.
