In every to-do list, there’s a distinct hierarchy of things you don’t really mind down to things that require all of your self-discipline reserves to complete. And what one person considers a waste of a Saturday, another person is perfectly fine doing. Here’s what we think that your most-dreaded chore says about you, unscientifically, of course.
You Dread: Cleaning the Litter Box
You are: Extremely stressed out
While we’d be hard-pressed to find the person who lives to scoop Fluffy’s deposits, most limit their involvement in this dirty task by handling it as fast as possible. If you’re actively putting it off, however, you’re quickly heading to a stinky situation. Shirking this chore means voluntarily tolerating the sort of smelliness that only a severely stressed-out person could endure. Perhaps it’s time to revisit that over-packed schedule and take a vacation (after addressing any lingering issues in the litter department, of course).
You dread: Scrubbing the bathtub
You are: Spontaneous
The phrase “long-term planning” inspires you… to roll your eyes. You never understood the people who couldn’t live without their planners, since you do just fine with winging it. Yeah, the tub’s pretty gross. But you’ve got far better things to do than tediously scrub for hours on end with nothing but cleaning solvents for company.
You dread: Organizing the closet
You are: Optimistic
Every season, you get the impulse to finally change over your closet so that a temperature-appropriate outfit is always at your fingertips. Then you go and do something else. You’ve got dresses from three jobs ago mixed with a few college-era sweaters and who knows what else, but you know that there’s going to be a situation where those pieces will come in handy.
You dread: Doing the dishes
You are: Creative
Your culinary masterpieces inspire rave reviews… and plenty of dirty pots, pans and plates. While you’d happily spend an hour or more trying a new recipe, the thought of ten minutes of clean-up bums you out. Even if you have a dishwasher, you’re never quite in the mood to even touch the pile.
You dread: Raking Leaves
You are: An individualist
