1. Be a neat freak!
Reduce getting-dressed stress by sorting the clothes in your wardrobe according to type (shirts, tops, skirts), then colour and fabric, from dark to light and lightweight to heavy.
2. Weigh it up
When packing containers to store clothing away, pack heavier garments at the bottom and delicates on top
3. Throw it out
Commit to the items you love and throw out those you don’t. If you haven’t worn something in more than a year or if it hasn’t fitted in two years, say goodbye!
4. Keep or toss
Look at the back of your beauty products. See the little cap with a number and the letter M next to it? That’s how many months it will keep after you’ve opened it.
5. Buy big bottles
It’s cash-savvy to buy products such as shampoo, liquid soap, bubble bath and shower gel in the largest bottles they come in. Decant if you like and, when it comes to soap, know that those that are dispensed as foam last a lot longer.
6. Cover up
Always use a cover to protect a down duvet or pillow from perspiration, soiling and wear. Down pillows can be machine-washed on a gentle cycle, at 40°C and with a mild liquid detergent. – Gaynor Walkey, owner of Granny Goose (www.grannygoose.com)
