How to look good without makeup

You don’t always need a face full of makeup to look your best!

Yes, we know the feeling and we understand – you feel naked without anything on your lashes, you need your trusty bright lipstick to get you through the day, but most of all, you need to cover your skin in foundation to amp up your self-confidence. But what if we told you that it’s okay to forgo heavy foundation during the day?

Here’s how to achieve a fresh look every day:

1. Invest in a good tinted moisturiser, BB or CC cream with a high SPF
These days a heavy foundation isn’t the only solution to flawless, fresher skin. If you can’t get away with a completely bare face, a product with a thinner consistency will add glow and even out skin colour.

2. Use a good alcohol-free toner after cleansing your face
Some cleansers can be harsh and drying. Switch to a more suitable one and be sure to tone afterwards – toning acts as a ‘second’ cleansing to get rid of any film or soapy residue that may be left over from the cleanser, causing skin to look dull.

3. Exfoliate at least twice a week
This is a step that we don’t always include, but it’s important to slough away dead skin cells often. A gentle micro-powder or scrub will work the best.

4. Stop picking at your skin!
Those pesky breakouts you experience so often? Leave. Them. Alone. Picking at your spots with dirty fingers will only result in blemishes.

5. Drink plenty of water and follow a healthy diet
You can invest in all the expensive skincare products in the world, but they won’t do much if you don’t keep your skin healthy from within.

6. Get your eyebrows shaped and tinted
You will be surprised how much well-groomed eyebrows can do to complement your face. By investing in your eyebrows, you don’t have to apply as much makeup to get the same ‘lift’.

7. Get your lashes tinted
Feeling a bit naked without your mascara? Make your lashes look fuller by getting them tinted. The pigment lasts for several weeks, making lashes look thicker and fuller.

8. Sleep!
It goes without saying that a good night’s rest can improve the appearance of your skin drastically.
