The South African Guide Dog Association (SAGA) works to enhance the mobility, independence and dignity of blind and partially sighted people in South Africa.
- guide dogs for the visually impaired;
- service dogs for the physically impaired;
- orientation and mobility practitioners to teach the visually impaired skills of daily living, the use of long canes – the alternative form of independence to our visually impaired community.
Did you know that SAGA does not receive any funding from the government?
You can support the South African Guide Dog Association with a small donation: SMS ‘SEE’ to 38051 to make a R10 donation! A weekly text message totals almost R500 a year – that’s the cost of a new harness for a guide dog, and a new leather lead, collar and ID tag together cost R250.
