Family Fun on Heritage Day

Heritage Day – or Braai Day – is around the corner. Here are some exciting things happening around the country to help you make the most of the public holiday!

Johannesburg – Fun-in-the-sun-picnic

 

Bring the whole family and enjoy a fun-filled day at Emperors Palace. Relax on the grass with a picnic basket while Barry Hilton entertains like only he can. There will be various food stalls, a beer garden and entertainment for children.

 

Date and Time: 24 September at 11.30am; the show starts at 1.30pm

Pretoria – Take the Train

 

Jump on the Diamond Express train and spend the day in the Hermanstad mining village in Cullinan. Tours of the mine, gorgeous little shops and museums all make for an entertainment-filled day. And since it’s National Braai Day, fires will be available to celebrate the day in all its glory.

Cape Town – Kids go free on the City Sightseeing Bus

 

Don’t miss this great special offer for the popular red hop-on, hop-off buses! On public holidays such as Heritage Day, two children can take the bus free of charge with every paying adult. Explore Cape Town together and teach your kids the rich heritage of the city.

Venue: Ticket office outside the Two Oceans Aquarium – the bus departs from here

Durban – Half Price at  Crocworld Conservation Centre

 

To celebrate Heritage Day, Crocworld is opening its doors to the public at half-price! Enjoy a day of fun with a variety of crocodiles and reptiles. Feeding times for the crocs are at 11am and 1pm, and at 11.40am there will be a snake demonstration.

 

Date and Time: 24 September, 8am to 4.30pm

Venue: Crocworld Conservation Centre, 1 300136 Street, Ezembeni

Cost: R30 for adults, R20 for children
