Meeting your future family can be scary enough for anyone, but imagine you were marrying into royalty.
Well, for Prince Harry’s fiancee Meghan Markle, that was the reality – but in an interview with the BBC, she seemed unfazed by the experience.
The couple revealed that they kept their romance completely secret for several months, but when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got wind of things they were desperate to meet Meghan. ‘William and Catherine were dying to meet her,’ revealed Harry. Meghan said that Kate in particular had been ‘wonderful’ at welcoming her into the family.
The couple have also had a ‘handful of teas and meetings’ with Harry’s father, Prince Charles, who has been ‘absolutely solid support’.
Meghan has also met the Queen, who she described as an ‘incredible woman’. ‘It’s incredible to meet her through his lens’ said Meghan, citing ‘the love that [Harry] has for her as his grandmother’. Prince Harry joked that the Queen’s corgis took a shine to Meghan instantly. ‘The corgis took to you straight away’ he said to his future wife. ‘I’ve spent the last 33 years being barked at!’ he joked.
Sounds like Meghan is settling in just fine!
