The Book that Changed my Life

I’ve loved books since I was a little girl. Now as the book editor, I am lucky to have so many different books land on my desk every day. But the one book that has changed my life and which I always go back to is The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay – Masechaba Mkefa, GH Book Editor

It’s the story of a little boy, Peekay, who faces racial hatred and injustices, and learns to keep his head up in the face of adversity. An epic tale about the power of inner strength, after growing and surviving humiliation, he takes up boxing and learns a valuable lesson that he takes with him through life: ‘first with the head, then with the heart’.

A lesson that can be applied to everything in life.
