Just finished frying fish? Get rid of the fishy smells by adding a tablespoon of peanut butter to the pan once you’re done cooking and frying for one minute.
- Disguising your pet’s pills
If you battle to get your pet to swallow his medication, disguise it in a dollop of peanut butter.

- Use it to polish black or brown leather shoes
Add a small amount of peanut butter to a soft cloth, then use it to shine shoes. Peanut butter’s oily content cleans leather and creates a lovely sheen.
- Lift gum
To help remove gum from hair, clothes, upholstery and carpets, rub a small amount of peanut butter into the gum. Let it sit for three minutes, then rub it off. The gum should come off easily.
- Get rid of sticky sticker residue
You know that sticky residue that’s left behind when you peel off a sticky label or price tag? A little peanut butter rubbed over the area will remove it in a flash.
- Make a bird feeder
Coat a pine cone in peanut butter, roll it in bird seeds, then hang from a tree. Now watch the birds flock to it!
- A butter substitute when baking
Use peanut butter instead of butter in your baking recipes for a delicious nutty flavour.
- Stop an ice-cream cone from leaking
Put a blob of peanut butter at the very bottom of the cone before you top it with ice cream. This will stop it from leaking – plus you’ll get a yummy surprise mouthful at the end.
- Make a yummy popcorn topping
Gently heat a quarter cup each of sugar, honey and peanut butter, and a pinch of salt, on the stove. Toss this over ready-popped popcorn and let it cool. Toooooo delicious!
