  1. Stop fish odours

Just finished frying fish? Get rid of the fishy smells by adding a tablespoon of peanut butter to the pan once you’re done cooking and frying for one minute.

  1. Disguising your pet’s pills

If you battle to get your pet to swallow his medication, disguise it in a dollop of peanut butter.

  1. As a pancake topping

Top a just-flipped pancake with peanut butter and banana … yum!

  1. Use it to polish black or brown leather shoes

Add a small amount of peanut butter to a soft cloth, then use it to shine shoes. Peanut butter’s oily content cleans leather and creates a lovely sheen.

  1. Lift gum

To help remove gum from hair, clothes, upholstery and carpets, rub a small amount of peanut butter into the gum. Let it sit for three minutes, then rub it off. The gum should come off easily.

  1. Get rid of sticky sticker residue

You know that sticky residue that’s left behind when you peel off a sticky label or price tag? A little peanut butter rubbed over the area will remove it in a flash.

  1. Make a bird feeder

Coat a pine cone in peanut butter, roll it in bird seeds, then hang from a tree. Now watch the birds flock to it!

  1. A butter substitute when baking

Use peanut butter instead of butter in your baking recipes for a delicious nutty flavour.

  1. Stop an ice-cream cone from leaking

Put a blob of peanut butter at the very bottom of the cone before you top it with ice cream. This will stop it from leaking – plus you’ll get a yummy surprise mouthful at the end.

  1. Make a yummy popcorn topping

Gently heat a quarter cup each of sugar, honey and peanut butter, and a pinch of salt, on the stove. Toss this over ready-popped popcorn and let it cool. Toooooo delicious!
