3 natural ways to treat menopause

Try these remedies from Dr Marilyn Glenville to help soothe common hormonal symptoms

By Good Housekeeping

RED CLOVER, which is rich in isoflavones, has been shown in many studies to
be effective in treating hot flushes and night sweats.

SAGE can be taken as a tea or in tablet form, and ongoing studies suggest it may help regulate hormone levels.

EXERCISE is the simplest remedy of all. ‘As well as keeping your weight stable and your bones strong, it also helps reduce flushes,’ says Glenville.

WHAT TO AVOID:

Red wine, spicy foods and hot drinks, which can make menopausal symptoms worse – as can peaks and troughs in blood sugar.
