There are so many things that contribute to how your skin looks that your doctor wants you to know now. Almost every trip to the doctor is related to these three things and they all affect how your skin looks and feels every day.
1. Avoid processed foods
If you suffer from pimples or acne, it’s probably caused by the high-glycaemic-index foods that you eat, such as white bread, French fries and sugary drinks. In addition to being unhealthy, these foods can also cause acne and a breakdown in collagen in the skin as a result of raised blood-sugar levels. Consider eliminating these foods from your diet for a week to see the difference.

2. Don’t overexfoliate
Trying to scrub away dry body skin can leave your skin raw if you don’t moisturise appropriately afterwards. The intense scrubbing will only leave your skin worse off. Rather opt for a hydrating body wash than intense exfoliating regimes. Try body washes that have glycerine, oils or ceramides as their main ingredients.
3. Moisturise correctly
Sometimes using body lotion may seem like a big task, what with all the slimy rubbing we do for two to three minutes, but it’s the best-kept secret to radiant skin. The best way to moisturise is to rub the lotion straight up and down, as the skin absorbs it faster this way, rather than in a circle, where it’s just being pushed around. Be sure not to moisturise too much, though. Measure about an almond-size portion for each arm and leg and your torso.
