A place for everything and everything in its place…

If you have a makeup collection that could rival that of a famous beauty blogger (or are at last aspiring to reach that level), chances are you have a lot of products. And when you have a lot of products, you need somewhere to keep them. If there is no vanity case in the world big enough to store your prized collection, it might be time to think of other makeup-organising hacks. Here are five smart storage solutions that you’ll wish you had thought of earlier.

1. Pen holders

When it comes to storing makeup, creativity is key. Things that come in long tubes, such as eyeliner, mascara and application brushes, are probably the easiest thing to find alternative storage for. Pen holders are great for this, and come in all sorts of fun styles, so you can also add some personality to your desk or dressing table.

2. Drawer organisers

While many people like to show off their collection to anyone who enters their space, sometimes you want things stored out of sight. Rather than simply tossing everything into disorganised makeup bags, investing in office or kitchen-drawer organisers can help to keep your drawers tidy and your different cosmetics products separated.

3. Cake stands

This might not be as efficient when it comes to saving space, but nothing looks cuter than a perfume collection stored on a decorative cake stand. Trays are also a great option for fulfilling this role. Picking out a pretty one also adds to the general décor of your room while simultaneously giving you the opportunity to show off your great taste in fragrances.

4. Mugs

Much like pen holders, mugs are a great way to store brushes, eyeliner and mascara, as well as lipsticks and lip balms. There are also so many different shapes and designs on the market that you can pick one (or five) that pair perfectly with your décor scheme.

5. Drawer units

Probably the most practical investment if you have more makeup and skincare products than you know what to do with is a set of drawers. And the only thing better than a set of drawers is one on wheels that can follow you wherever you go. This plastic one with clear compartments also helps you keep track of what is where. Genius!
