5 home-made pizzas you’d be crazy not to try

Home-made pizza is a brilliant alternative to spending a fortune on takeaways. Make an evening of it and get the whole family involved.

I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t like pizza. It’s a genius meal that’s as easy to make at home as it is to order in. Plus it’s cheaper to make at home.

So why not make an evening of it and have a home-made-pizza dinner party? Your kids will love being able to choose their own toppings and you won’t have to fight with someone over the phone while trying to explain that you only want olives on half of the pizza.

Here are five recipes that will make you never want to order takeaway pizza again.

Simmer for 5min, stirring continuously (careful, as it may bubble volcanically!), until the mixture thickens. Stir in the Parmesan and lots of seasoning, then tip on to the prepared tray and spread to make a circle 30.5cm (12in) across. Leave to cool while you prepare the toppings. 2 In a small bowl, stir together tomato purÈe, oil and oregano with 1tbsp water to make a smooth sauce. Spread evenly over the polenta base, leaving a 2cm (3?4in) border. 3 Scatter over mozzarella and antipasti and cook in the oven for 15min or until the cheese is bubbling and golden. Scatter over the rocket, cut into wedges and serve. PER SERving 358cals, 16g fat (7g saturates), 37g carbs (5g total sugars), 15g protein, 2g fibre
