5 Tricks for Shinier Hair

Want great hair? Achieving it is easier than you think By Yusrah Julius

A good hair day doesn’t have to start with a visit to the salon. Add these steps to your hair-care routine and get ready for radiance.

  1. Iron in the shine

The smoother the hair surface is, the more light it reflects. But be careful, make sure you iron your hair only when it’s dry and choose a straightener with ceramic plates that help to protect your hair from excessive heat.

  1. Use the right brush

Use a brush with a round head and natural bristles. It ensures that the natural oils on your scalp are evenly distributed from root to tip.

  1. Up your blow-drying skills

To flatten the cuticles on your hair, point the blow-dryer nozzle down. For long-lasting shine, finish off with a shot of cool air.

  1. Eat healthily

Make sure you’re getting plenty of vitamins A and E and protein, which help to keep the scalp nourished and give the hair a natural shine. Eat foods like spinach, sweet potatoes, nuts and eggs.

  1. Oil up

Oils are great multitasking products that offer loads of benefits. They’re great for detangling wet hair and protecting hair from heat and they help to seal the cuticles down. Opt for nourishing oils such as argan, avocado and olive.
