Wearing eye shadow that’s been applied skilfully can make your eyes stand out, but did you know that certain colours can really make them pop? These shades will best complement your complexion and your eyes.
Brown eyes
When it comes to brown, almost any colour works, so you can really experiment when applying your makeup. However, there are a few standout tones, including bronzes, golds, earthy greens and light salmon or peach.
Blue eyes
To accentuate your baby blues, avoid colours that are too dark and harsh, which can mute their natural beauty. The best shades to use are light, neutral ones, such as light, sandy browns and beige. For a pop of colour, coral and champagne tones will complement your eyes without overpowering them.

Grey eyes
If you have rare but beautiful grey eyes you should exercise caution when it comes to using colour that might be too bold and might hide your natural colour rather than enhance it. Stick to cool tones such as grey, white and charcoal, and use metallic eye shadows to add some depth and give your eyes life.
Green eyes
Luckily for you, if you have green eyes they are naturally bright, so your peepers stand out without you having to apply much makeup. Light purple works really well with your natural colouring, as it creates a flattering contrast. A shimmery gold can be used in combination with a taupe shade for day or night.
Hazel eyes
This combination of green eyes with brown-gold flecks shouldn’t be overshadowed by the heavy use of smoky shadows. Instead, opt for soft metallic eye shadow and, to incorporate some colour, some delicate dusty pinks. Neutral tones on the warm end of the spectrum also work well for a more subtle look.
