South Africa is currently in lockdown as we try to prevent the spread of Covid-19, which means that many businesses, including hair salons, aren’t open. And while many people might not care what their hair (or rat’s nest!) looks like right now, a professional blowout can lift your mood, make you feel fresher and give you one less thing to worry about ahead of that next Zoom video call. One hairstylist has a genius beauty hack to fake a pro blowout, and it’s definitely worth saving for your next date night.

Hairstylist Olivia Smalley’s Instagram page is littered with all sorts of beauty hacks. One of her more recent videos shows you how to fake a professional blowout, and all you need is a heat-protectant spray, two hair ties and curling tongs. In the video, she separates her hair down the middle and secures each side into two low ponytails. She then applies heat-protectant spray, wraps her front tendrils around the tongs and holds them in place for a few seconds. She then wraps each ponytail around the tongs as well. The result? Hair with a bouncy salon finish.

🙇🏼‍♀️If round brushing your ends isn’t your friend, here’s a fun hair hack to get a bend without a brush.🙋🏼‍♀️ ⠀ ⠀ If you notice in the video I used a heat protectant spray. You may ask, “Olivia, you use leave-in protectants usually when you blow-dry, why are you using more?” ⠀ ⠀ Well! If your heat styling the next day or a couple of days later, you no longer have the support of a heat protectant. I added a DRY heat guard Ironclad from @joico 🔥🛡 ⠀ ⠀ But that’s not the only spray I used… my roots are DARK👧🏻 right now. But I used a BLONDE 👧🏼 tint spray to assist in these grown roots. It helps to blend gray hair as well. It comes in ALL colors. ⠀ ⠀ 🤳🏻Save this hack and send it to friends that may like this hack as well!! ⠀ ⠀ #omgartistry #oliviasmalley #hackqueen #extensionspecialist #joico #joicoblondelife #hairhack #blowdryhack #beautyhack #beautyhacks #lifehacks #lifehack #joicotintshot #blondesavages #socialsavvystylist #blondespecialist #daviehairstylist #FortLauderdalehairstylist #miamihairstylist #socialqueen #fortlauderdaleextensions #fortlauderdaleblogger #hairblogger #hack #blowdry #diyhair #behindthechair #ultabeauty @ultabeauty @behindthechair_com
