Netflix has released teaser pictures for its first original African series Queen Sono, which stars our November/December cover star, Pearl Thusi!

The six-part series follows Pearl as Queen Sono, a highly trained spy in a South African agency taking on her most dangerous mission yet while facing changing relationships in her personal life and uncovering the truth about her mother’s past.

The series was produced and shot by an all-local team and stars an all-local cast.
Names in the production include Vuyo Dabula, Sechaba Morojele, Chi Mhende, Loyiso Madinga, Rob van Vuuren, Kate Liquorish, Khathu Ramabulana, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa and Abigail Kubeka.
The series was shot across several African locations, including Lagos, Kenya and Zanzibar, and viewers can expect diverse languages throughout the series, including English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa, isiZulu, Russian and French.
Queen Sono will be released in early 2020.
