We can all be a bit smelly from time to time, particularly on hot summer days, but our feet are capable of kicking up a stink no matter the season. Some people’s feet are more fragrant than others, but foot odour is something that we all deal with at some point. Here are easy ways to keep it at bay.

1. Don’t limit deodorant to your armpits
We use deodorant daily to stop BO in its tracks. But did you know that it’s just as effective when sprayed onto your feet? Antiperspirant will prevent you from sweating, which, in turn, will keep your feet dry and odour-free. Why didn’t we think of this before?
2. Switch up your shoes
You might have one or two pairs of shoes that you love and wear most days, but by wearing the same pair over consecutive days they accumulate more sweat, which seeps into the material and causes them to smell. And if you wear smelly shoes, this pong can be transferred to your feet.

3. Apply some pedi powder
While you might associate powders with your grandparents, foot powders can actually be effective at keeping your feet dry and deodorising them as well. They also help to control friction, which is one of the main causes of blisters and athlete’s foot. Now you can have feet that are healthy as well as sweet-smelling!
4. Soak yourself smell-free
Had a long day? Why not treat yourself to a relaxing foot soak? This is not only a good way to give your feet some much-needed TLC, it’s also a way of making sure that odour-causing bacteria are soaked off. Add some Epsom salts and an essential oil of your choice to a small tub and voilà!
