Pack a picnic and make your way to the Company’s Garden this Human Rights Day where there will be free concerts and shows on the sprawling lawns of the Company’s Gardens. The afternoon of entertainment aims to promote tolerance and understanding among diverse communities while creating a platform for budding talent.
There’ll also be a food market, various arts and crafts stalls and a kiddies area to keep the little ones busy.

Meal packing with Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa
If you feel the focus of Human Rights Day should be on charity, join Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa and their partners (Blue Route Mall, Chic Mamas, Accessorize, La Senza and Dion Wired) in packing meals at the Blue Route Mall. Volunteers will help feed more than 100 children in the Vrygrond area.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your session starts.

Human Rights Day Fayre
Join in the good, old-fashioned fun at this event, hosted by Rotary Medieval Fayre. There’ll be a schools’ competition, minstrels, puppets, stalls, animal shows, games like archery, slingshot, barista and rope pulling, demonstrations and even some wench dunking.
When you need replenishment, there’ll be a charity high tea, and food and beverages on offer.

DURBAN
Francofete Festival
Celebrate diversity and tolerance this Human Rights Day as part of Francophonie week.
Your kids will love the eclectic African, French and local artists performing an upbeat array of music – from slam to folk, pop and accordion – supported by an eclectic crowd from all walks of life. When hunger calls, visit the food and crafts stalls, a collaboration with local traders and refugee social services. Later, the whole family can get green-aware at Citi-Zen’s permaculture area.
Teachers and storytellers will be on hand in the children’s area.
