It might be a while before we can completely depend on the skill and power of robots to take the hassle out of ordinary household tasks, like laundry-folding, but we are getting closer!
What’s the worst thing about doing the laundry? Ask anyone and chances are they’ll say ‘folding it’. (We think so too!) A company called FoldiMate has come to the rescue with the invention of a nifty folding robot. It claims to have ‘invented patented technology that finally allows us all to have an affordable machine’.
This sounds amazing, but for now we need to be patient, as the FoldiMate Robotic Folding Machine will only be available for pre-ordering in 2017 and will cost an estimated $700 to $850 (about R10 600 to R12 900) to buy. (The fact that 87 119 users on the company’s website have already registered to be notified when preordering begins just shows how many people are desperate never to have to fold laundry again!)
We won’t get into the techy stuff ourselves, but watch the video below!
