Prince William has posted a video on Instagram addressing the coronavirus pandemic.

In the short clip, recorded on behalf of the National Emergencies Trust (NET) and shared on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official @KensingtonRoyal account, the royal pays tribute to the UK’s ‘unique ability to pull together’.

Prince William goes on to urge followers to get behind the NET’s new fundraising initiative to help local charities cope with the coronavirus pandemic.

‘Whenever and wherever adversity strikes, the people of the UK have a unique ability to pull together,’ William says.

‘The public’s desire to help in the wake of tragedy needs to be managed and channelled in the best possible way – which is why the establishment of the National Emergencies Trust was so important.’

Going on to explain the NET’s initiative in greater detail, the Prince continues: ‘The NET has launched an appeal to raise funds to help local charities support individuals suffering hardship as a result of the #coronavirus outbreak.’
