There are also more cost-effective methods of treating rosacea flare-ups at home. The first step is to invest in skincare products that are mild and cooling on the skin, and to steer clear of ones that contain harsh irritants.

Face washes, toners and moisturisers that contain rose extracts, aloe vera, camomile and oatmeal have been shown to reduce redness and swelling in patients with this skin condition, and can be used between visits to the doctor to relieve pain, itching and redness.
While there is no one-size-fits-all treatment, getting to know your triggers and what gives your skin relief is the first step in getting rosacea under control. Trial and error, medical supervision and getting to know your body are the key to success in keeping your skin happy and healthy.
