The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William have come out of the hospital to introduce their new baby boy to the world! Showing off the prince on the steps of the Lindo Wing at London’s St Mary’s Hospital this evening, the royal parents looked happy and in good spirits.

The Duke and Duchess made their first appearance for the media and crowds for only a short moment before setting off for Kensington Palace, where it’s thought they’ll be spending their first night as parents of three.

Kensington Palace gave the public plenty of warning of Kate and William’s plans to come out onto the steps and reveal the new Prince – once again on Twitter – and conveyed Will and Kate’s thanks for all the support they’ve received.
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge will be leaving St. Mary’s Hospital this evening. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son will travel home to Kensington Palace.

The Duchess gave birth after a five-hour labour this morning, with Kensington Palace announcing the news on Twitter a few hours later, noting that both mother and baby were in good health.
Before their first appearance, older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte came to visit their new baby brother at the hospital with their dad:
