What trends can we expect from Trenery in the new season?
This season, we’re looking at a return to the pared-back sensibility and heritage of Trenery. We prefer to nod to trends rather than interpret them literally, which means our designs are timeless and adaptable while still being modern. This season, we are adding florals for women and more playful prints for men. In contrast, we also love crisp, white-on-white outfitting, new denim washes and updated silhouettes in our favourite neutrals. We place a high importance on seasonless dressing, so these are styles you can wear throughout the year.
What can we expect to see in reoccurring trends from last season?
Beautiful natural fibres carry through all of our collections no matter what the season; think pure linen, cotton poplin and the perfect silk shirt. Varying levels of pink began to emerge last season and continue into the new season. We love these warm, flattering hues for both men and women.
What inspires your designs?
I get inspiration from all sorts of places, from walking around Melbourne where we’re based, to my overseas travels throughout the year and the world of fashion that we can view online/through social media. Ultimately, though, I and the design team are greatly inspired by the relaxed Australian way of life and our timeless designs reflect that – soft structure, natural fibres and effortless style are what come to mind.
What sets Trenery apart?
We want our clothes to be loved and worn season after season and therefore versatility and quality are values that set us apart – this means cohesive colour palettes, premium yarns and modern yet timeless prints. We design with the philosophy of everyday luxury coupled with a strong sense of value.
And how will this be translated into the new season’s must-haves?
Our womenswear must-haves for the season are true investment pieces: a premium leather skirt, jacket and pants are among the highlights, as they are absolutely timeless pieces. Looking to spring, a linen suit is a wardrobe essential for the modern man, as its soft structure will keep you looking sharp while maintaining a level of comfort.
What is a must-have in every woman’s wardrobe?
I personally don’t think you can go past a great pair of jeans that fit perfectly, but generally, I think the must-haves for every woman are clothes that make her feel confident and authentic. Pieces like a stretch cotton blazer or modern leather loafers – these never go out of style, they suit everyone and are ideal investment pieces.
Luckily, we can shop the latest spring/summer 2018 trends under one roof at Trenery.
