The beautifying benefits of turmeric for your skin

Spice up your skincare routine!

For a long time turmeric was associated with tasty Indian food. Over the last few years, however, people have realised what people in that country have known all along: that turmeric has health and skincare benefits too. Now people aren’t just adding it to rice but also to smoothies, tea, supplements and beauty products.

What’s good about it?

Turmeric contains a bioactive component called curcumin, which is an antioxidant that also has anti-inflammatory properties. This means it can help to reduce redness, diminish the appearance of scars and pigmentation, and revive skin and give it a healthy glow. It is also trusted by many to ease dermatological conditions such as psoriasis and acne. In other words, it’s the perfect all-rounder!

How to use it

Turmeric doesn’t have to be ingested to be effective. One of the most common ways that people use this spice in their skincare routine is to apply it topically by making a face mask.

Turmeric face mask

Mix together two tablespoons of flour or ground oats, one teaspoon of turmeric, three tablespoons of milk and a few drops of honey. Apply to the face and rinse off after 20 minutes.

This budget alternative to a salon facial can give results that are just as good, if not better. As they say, nature knows best!

✨My favourite DIY FACE MASKS✨ (link in bio) Yes, I look ridiculous right now in my bright yellow face mask, but it's all in the name of good skin, I promise! I feel like I've been battling with my skin since I was 16, it seems to go from one extreme to another. When I fell pregnant my hormones decided to take me back to that fun prepubescent age where your skin decides "you're not leaving the house today, also here enjoy this rash." you're welcome. These masks really helped clear up my scars and problem areas. I hope they work wonders for you too. 🌷 www.thethingsweknow.com/single-post/DIY-Face-Masks-for-all-your-skin-troubles – – – – #skincare #facemasks #diyfacemask #turmeric #beautifulskin #skincaretips #healthyskin #homefacemask #beauty #beautyhacks #beautytips #acne #acnetreatment #smile #confidence #women #pregnancy #nutrients #food #blogger #beautyblogger #tips #inspo
