The annual record for the number of red roses sold in 24 hours is around the corner. Yip, it’s almost Valentine’s Day. Red roses are known to be the symbol of longing and passion, and they are also traditionally used as a pretty, velvety way of saying ‘I love you’. But have you ever wondered how that many roses get delivered on one day? NetFlorist shared some interesting stats with us:

  • On Valentine’s Day, business grows by more than 1 000% in just one day!
  • With more than 18 000 orders, compared with the daily average of 1 400 orders, the NetFlorist team requires unbelievable experience to gear the company to handle that amount of growth for Valentine’s Day.
  • Working through the night of the 13th of February, NetFlorist staff, joined by more than 500 temporary employees hired just for the occasion, work to prepare orders and prepack their fleet of vans for the international day of love.

Spoil your man

Traditionally, women are the main recipients of gifts and flowers on Valentine’s Day, but how about surprising your significant other this year? We understand the stress of arranging a romantic dinner for two on one of the busiest nights of the year, so why not celebrate Valentine’s Day a day or two early? Restaurants are usually fully booked and most things are overpriced on the day, so why not make the most of it by celebrating ahead of time?

NetFlorist has all kinds of amazing gifts for you to spoil your man, including fine whisky, jewellery, Happy Socks, exquisite robes, fragrances, braai-master kits, adventure getaways and a wide selection of personalised gifts. What’s more, NetFlorist will include Lindt chocolate if you order for delivery on the 13th of February!

Get what you want

Does your man need a little inspiration when it comes to gift giving? NetFlorist has great gifts for women, so why not ‘accidentally’ leave his computer open on their webpage? It’s a hint that will be hard to miss. He’ll be able to choose from a selection of wine and chocolate hampers, jewellery, books, spa vouchers, homeware and much more.
