Simone Anderson decided two years ago that she she wasn’t happy with the way she looked, and decided to do something about it. Determined to eat better and exercise more, the New Zealander went from weighing 169 kg to 77 kg.  Awesome, right? Well, not everyone thought so …

She originally made headlines after posting before-and-after photos of herself on Instagram, which received a lot of criticism. Many said her transformation was “fake” for more ridiculous reasons than we can count. “Throughout my whole journey I have tried to be so honest about the whole experience and tell people it exactly as it’s happened so to be called a fake hurt a lot.”

Exactly two years ago I started “Simone’s Journey to Health” where I made the decision to overhaul my entire diet, mind set and lifestyle. What a journey it has been from 169kg to 77kg! Looking back and remembering how many tears and emotions came before I pressed “post” I am so proud of myself for every single step I have gone through and having the guts to make my journey a public one. There have been so many days I have wanted to give up and revert to my old lifestyle, but I haven’t. Thank you to everyone of you who have been there every single step of the way, I know for sure I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for your constant support, kind comments and words and heartfelt messages. I am more grateful than you will ever know and I can’t thank you enough!

But never one to back down to haters, last week, Anderson took to social media again, this time with a video showing her complete transformation throughout those two years, including photos of what she now looks like after a nine hour surgery to remove excessive skin. “When it came to posting about my loose skin well that was equally as tough. So here we go, I hope this helps all the ‘non believers’,” she wrote.

Alongside the video, Anderson wrote: “Exactly two years ago I started “Simone’s Journey to Health” where I made the decision to overhaul my entire diet, mind set and lifestyle.”
