Fit for a Princess!

Meghan Markle Archie's Christening

With the royal wedding just two days away, nuptial fever is definitely in the air. If you are soon to be wed, or know of a lovely lady who is, why not hint to their significant other that they could make their special lady feel like a princess too, by getting her a ring similar to the one worn by Prince Harry’s future wife, Meghan Markle. Here’s why this is the ring of the century.

The Meghan Ring  has sparked an engagement-ring trend, with only three of these exquisite 18-carat yellow-and-white-gold trilogy engagement rings available in South Africa. American Swiss is home to this gorgeous band that is substantially similar to the one Prince Harry gave to Meghan Markle when he proposed. The Meghan Ring is a trio of diamonds with one larger central stone and two smaller stones framing it. The ring contains a three-carat cushion-cut stone and two 0,5-carat round supernova moissanite stones, total moissanite weight: 4 carats. If we forget the specifics, the most important thing of all is that this ring is exquisite beyond comparison (and it will bring you that much closer to feeling like a member of the royal family)!

If you’re wondering about Meghan Markle’s ring, here are the facts:

In an interview with the BBC, Harry revealed he designed the ring himself, opting for a gold band, a centre stone sourced from Botswana (where he and Meghan visited at the start of their relationship) and two diamonds from his late mother’s personal collection.

‘It’s obviously yellow gold because that’s [Meghan’s] favourite,’ said Harry in the interview, adding that the side diamonds ‘are from my mother’s jewellery collection to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.’

Commenting on her husband-to-be’s choice, Meghan said, ‘It’s beautiful. Obviously not being able to meet his mom… it’s important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us. It’s incredibly special. And to be able to have this [ring], which links where [Harry] comes from, and Botswana, which is important to us. It’s perfect.’

We think it’s a gorgeous gem to mark such a happy occasion. And we all wish we could own such a fine piece of jewellery, but sadly only three soon-to-be-brides in South Africa will have the privilege.

The Meghan Ring is available at American Swiss in Canal Walk, Gateway and Mall of the South for the royal price of R59 999. Please note only three are available, so act fast to avoid disappointment.
